Eva Solnick
Eva Solnick was born in the Bay Area of Northern California. At fourteen she began her formal classical dance training at a local studio in San Jose, California. After her family relocated to New York City, she wished to pursue her training at a more rigorous level. That year she began training at the Gelsey Kirkland Academy of Classical Ballet. After completing her formal dance training in New York at both GKA and the Joffrey Ballet School, Eva was accepted as a Trainee at the Joffrey Academy of Dance in Chicago. There she performed works by Alexei Kremnev, Jeffrey Cirio, and Mariana Oliveira. The following year, Eva was accepted on full scholarship to the Hubbard Street Professional Program, where she danced works by Alejandro Cerrudo, Kristina Isabelle, and Robyn Mineko Williams. She has completed numerous summer programs abroad including American Ballet Theater, Arts Umbrella’s International Summer Intensive, a summer residency at the Banff Center for Arts and Creativity, Canada’s National Ballet School, B12, Gaga intensives, and The Princess Grace Academy of Dance, among others. Eva was accepted into the Arts Umbrella Graduate Program in Vancouver, Canada, where she has had the pleasure to perform works by Aszure Barton, Cayetano Soto, Crystal Pite, James Kidelka, Johan Inger, Lukas Timulak, Lesley Telford and Mats Ek among many others. Eva has had the opportunity to present her own choreographic work within the Crystal Pite choreographic mentorship program at Arts Umbrella. After graduation, Eva went on to perform with Ballet BC in their production of Romeo + Juliet by Medhi Walerski, both locally and internationally, as well as perform with Performance Research Project and Chor Leoni. Additionally, Eva has completed a Leadership and Lifestyle training course at the Dharma Temple in Vancouver, where she has had the pleasure of exploring yogic techniques and practices that allow her to show up as a leader both in the dance community and beyond. Eva is grateful for the opportunity to collaborate and perform with many brilliant artists in the dance world, giving her a broader understanding of the impact art can make on a global scale.
